SnowWorld Group – Europe's leading operator of indoor ski resorts and leisure destinations is a fast-growing organisation with 12 locations spread across 5 countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany and the United Kingdom).
We are looking for an international, innovative Technical Director for our entire group.
Purpose of the position
The Technical Director provides a technical vision of the organization and leads and directs the technical teams to realize the development and implementation of innovative solutions.
The role ensures achieving sustainable growth, delivering technology solutions that not only support current operational needs, but also lay the foundation for future growth and success.
Job description
Leadership and Guidance of Technical Teams
Leading, motivating, and developing technical teams, including setting clear goals and expectations
Creating an environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
Delegating tasks and projects based on the expertise and development needs of team members
Development of Technical Strategies and Roadmaps
Establishing a long-term technological vision that aligns with business objectives
Developing strategic technology development roadmaps to ensure continued growth and competitive advantage
Identifying and integrating new technologies and processes that can improve business performance
Achieving and ensuring Technical Excellence and uniformity/standardization
Maintaining high quality standards for all products and services
Regularly assessing and optimizing existing technologies and architectures to improve efficiency, safety, and performance
Ensuring the implementation of best practices in software development and technical management
Risk and Crisis Management
Proactively identifying and reducing technical risks
Developing and implementing effective crisis management plans for technological emergencies
Budget and Resource Management
Managing the technical budget, including allocating resources for projecten, R&D and personnel
Optimizing the allocation of technical resources to efficiently support business objectives
Stakeholder Management and Communication
Effectively communicating the technology strategy and progress to internal and external stakeholders
Collaborating with other directors to ensure that technology solutions support and strengthen business processes
Serving as the technical point of contact for senior management, guests, and external partners
Innovation and research
Leading research and development activities to create innovative solutions that drive business growth.
Keeping up with the latest technology trends and applying this knowledge to drive the organization forward.
The Technical Director is part of the senior management team and has an advisory role towards General Managers of the SnowWorld venues.
The head office of SnowWorld is located in the town of Roosendaal in the Netherlands.
What we ask
7+ years of experience in a technical senior leadership role
Expertise with cooling installations
WO or HBO bachelor's degree in a technical direction, or similar
Experience with a multi-country or regional function
Experience in a multi-location company
Experience in a company in a scale-up or fast-growing organization
Good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
Proficiency in the German and/or French language is an advantage
